Richard III, newly crowned King of England, sends a written order to London, from an Inn in Gloucester, on his tour of the country. Upon receipt the Vice-Constable, Sir James Tyrrell, arranges for the Constable of the Tower of London, Sir Robert Brackenbury to evacuate the Tower, for one night. On the night in question Tyrrell, and his henchmen steal in to the Tower and cover the faces of Richard’s nephews (the ‘Princes in the Tower’) with pillows and press down on their faces until they become silent . . .
