Based on a true story, this is an epic tale of love and honour.
The year is 1815 and William Rees-Mercer, an unemployed dreamer, whose despairing father, knowing that Napoleon is safe in exile, sends him to the army bound for Bermuda.
Before he goes, he finds a soul-mate in Miss Emily Farrington who he attempts to woo, but is trumped by the rich local mill owner, Robert Craufurd, who has courted her for a bet with his friends. William leaves, but the truth comes out about the bet so Emily goes after him, closely followed by Craufurd who tries to prevent them meeting and bring her back to her family.
Napoleon escapes from exile and William is diverted to Waterloo, and he has to finally reconcile himself with honour, self-respect and duty. Emily has to find him before he tempts death in one of history’s bloodiest battles, and before Craufurd finds her and brings her back.
Live Action Trailer
Here is the cinematic promotional short film for the novel ‘For Love Nor Money’. Directed by midlands filmmaker, Lewis Copson.
A thirty second version featured on cinema screens during summer 2015.
“The short film came about initially in order to create a 30 second ‘advert’ to promote the novel in cinemas, however it grew in the making and became a project in itself. A truly unique way to get a novel out there, of which I am very proud.”
